George (Bill) W. Baldwin, President

Bill is a well known pioneer in the PET industry and started Inter-Tech in 1986.  Bill, prior to starting Inter-Tech, spent 10 years with a leading multi-national plastic convertor.  Here, Bill developed the international department and became Vice President of International Operations.  In 1976, Bill licensed the very first international PET technology/know-how transfer in the world to Glass Container located in Sydney, Australia thereby converting this market from glass packaging to PET.  Bill also designed and developed export packaging for the first preforms to be shipped internationally proving preforms could travel beyond traditional U.S. boundary lines and thus enabling the boom of this industry worldwide.  Starting in 1976, Bill interfaced and traveled throughout the world with DuPont (the inventor of PET resin) to license and expose the new PET technology internationally.  Through Bill's efforts in the development of PET and his years of leading Inter-Tech, he has been involved introducing the first PET containers to Asia, the Pacific Rim, Middle East, South America, Mexico and Eastern & Western Europe.  He has made numerous presentations at PET technical conferences throughout the world and is considered one of the forefathers in the PET industry.

Al joined Inter-Tech in 1989 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  Prior to joining Inter-Tech, Al held operational and sales management positions with General Motors and Owens Corning Fiberglass and was the President of a multi-national company.  Al is at the center of operations in the company and the principal "go to" interfacing between our clients and equipment suppliers. With over 30 years experience in the operations aspects of both big and small companies, Al's background gives him an excellent balance in serving Inter-Tech's broad base of customers.  His primary duties at Inter-Tech are sales and marketing and overall administration and logistics coordination of ongoing projects.  Al's extensive management experience as well as his educational training and networking in the industry has served Inter-Tech and more importantly our clients well for over 18 years.

 
Debra Finney, Office Manager

Debbie has been the Office Manager at Inter-Tech Ltd. for over four years. She is responsible for our Accounting, I.T. needs and all other office functions. Debbie is well known and respected by all our clients for her pleasant disposition, high level of energy and work ethic.  Debbie’s background comes from years of experience in both the I.T.  field where she was Director of Operations at Atlanta Telephone and Communications and prior to that as a business owner of her own bookkeeping company. Debbie is not only an accomplished professional but more importantly a devoted mother and wife to her family and civic volunteer. She also spent two years as a Director in an Atlanta- based Crisis Pregnancy Center. Inter-Tech and our customers are fortunate to have Debbie on our team.


Bruce Clevenger, Vice President - Engineering

Bruce joined ITL in 2000 and his primary responsibilities are: feasibility analyses, bottle and preform cost modeling, project budgets and tracking; injection and blow molding performance evaluations and the selection and design of empty bottle material handling systems.  This includes bottle accumulation, labeling, conveying, unitizing, secondary packaging and blow molding direct to the filler.  Bruce presents Inter-Tech's clients with several designs as well as costing for their consideration.  Once the decision has been made about which iteration/option is to be used then the line is engineered and a budget is prepared for the client.  Over the past seven years Bruce has successfully reengineered over 75 lines for major plastic converters, not including the new lines he has designed.  Bruce is well-known, respected and considered by the plastic industry as the very best in downstream engineering.  Bruce's 20 plus years in the plastics industry has provided him with the unique ability to approach projects with creativity and practicality always keeping in mind . . . cost versus benefit.  Prior to joining Inter-Tech, Bruce was employed for over 16 years with a major PET plastics converter.


Bill Dye,
Utilities and Packaging Engineer

Bill is a recent addition to Inter-Tech and brings a strong background in packaging to accompany his utilities experience.  Over the past 20 years, Bill has worked in a variety of capacities for a wide range of industries on both the consulting and corporate engineering sides of the business.  Bill has completed multiple facility designs including utility and process systems and packaging line layouts for new facilities for a major soft drink manufacturer.  He has also completed facility audits, including process utilities, electrical systems, and packaging equipment for a variety of manufacturing plants.  More specifically, Bill has either designed or re-engineered over 100 production lines, with the following industry breakdown:  35+ carbonated beverages, 20+ non-carbonated beverages (including water, dairy, and aseptic pouches), 40+ food (including fresh and frozen baked goods, fresh food, pet food, and a wide variety of bag-in-box, V/FFS, and bottling applications), and 30+ consumer goods products (including pharmaceuticals, empty container manufacturing, and household products).  Summarizing, Bill’s experience encompasses utility and packaging system designs and installation for industries including plastic bottle and aluminum can manufacturing, high-speed beverage (soft drink, water, and beer), pharmaceuticals, bakery, pet food, and consumer goods.  Bill is considered an industry expert, having been invited to participate in the “Vision 2010” panel as part of PackExpo Chicago, 2004.


Russell "Russ" C. Hubenet, Senior Project Engineer

Russ has 30 years experience in the glass and plastic container industry.  Russ' experience includes plant engineering, "24/7" production operations management, technology development, and implantation and technical support of overseas operations.    Russ spent approximately 14 years in a major glass and plastic container operation in Brazil and the US, rising to be a Company Director of the Brazilian operations. In 1993 Russ went to work with a major US-based PET converter; his first assignment was as Operations Manager in Europe for a dedicated plant featuring the lab-to-production transition and commercial introduction of a proprietary barrier-coating technology for CSD bottles.  In 1995 he joined the company's Corporate Engineering group.  His areas of responsibility included ongoing evaluation and development work in barrier technologies, technical support of multiple production sites, cost estimating for capital projects, platform and technology evaluations, production cost modeling and project management which included new blow molder / injection molder and complete line installations, plant closures, asset relocations and machine conversions.  Additional responsibilities included management of the company's 250+ injection molds as well as being a lead technical information resource to the corporate Strategic Planning team.
 
Russ has extensive knowledge of all aspects of blow and injection molding as well as barrier enhancement technologies.  He has been involved hands-on in the development and introduction of oxygen scavenging technology and multi-layer performs for various markets.  His responsibilities included development of functional operating procedures (SOP's) as well as QA standards and methods and GMPs for the newly developed processes and products.  Russ is named on several patents as inventor or co-inventor.
 
Russ is fluent in Portuguese and speaks enough of other European languages to navigate the Continent.


 Ron Albritton, Project Manager

A relative newcomer to our team of professional Project Managers, Ron Albritton brings an added depth of knowledge in the area of Quality Assurance.  His comprehensive background in Quality Engineering and his certification as an ISO9000 Lead Auditor gives him a unique perspective for our customers looking to obtain compliance to QMS industrial standards.  Ron's Certified Six Sigma Green Belt status and experience affords him the ability to identify and manage to fruition process, product and/or service improvement projects.  Ron's most recent experience was with SIPA North America where he served as a Project Leader for onsite management of projects from machine delivery and installation through startup and warranty support.  Ron is PPAP/APQP/FMEA certified and a welcome addition to our group.


Ronald J. Duncan
, Senior Field Engineer

Ron has almost 30 years of experience in the PET industry.  He has been with Inter-Tech for nineteen years and has managed the majority of Inter-Tech's 115 international projects.  Most projects were located in developing countries, i.e., China, Pakistan, Russia, Malaysia, Philippines, and others.  Ron is a rare and unique individual who thrives on challenges and will work on any project any where.  Ron's  almost 30 years of world-wide experience have given him the depth and experience to walk into any situation in any location and determine what the best plan of action to implement the project or any project modifications that occur due to less than ideal circumstances at the site.  On upgrade projects, Ron has re-engineered and corrected many engineering problems that he encounters in the field.  He has the ability to make major decisions and changes, as appropriate in the field.  There is not a better project manager in this industry.  Ron's professional career has involved production management, plant management and technical troubleshooting with several commercial converters.


Fred Tyson, Electrical Engineer

 

Fred joined Inter-Tech in 2000 after 35 years in the plastic industry.  He is a licensed electrician.  Fred's career has given him multi-faceted experiences, from rebuild of controls, electrical panels and equipment to corporate electrical engineering.  The last six years of his career with a major plastic converter he was Director of the Facility Engineering Group.  In this capacity, Fred oversaw over $600 million in capital projects and managed construction of a $100 million facility located in Beijing, China.  Since Fred's joining Inter-Tech, he has brought a world of practical and hands-on experience that is unsurpassed.  Fred's experience has exposed design flaws in PET manufacturer's equipment thus improving performance and costly installation issues.  Fred is a certified inspector with UL/ETL compliance.


Marshall Jones, Engineering Construction Manager

Marshall is one of Inter-Tech's Project Managers. His last assignment was at Green Wood Mills in the Corporate Engineering group. Marshall is considered an expert in utilities project management and has had extensive experience domestically and abroad by traveling to plants in Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, and Pakistan to perform inspections of the facilities and support equipment.  Marshall also served as the Manager of Installation and Construction - responsible for all machinery installation and construction projects company wide.  In addition to his hands-on role at the company, Marshall also spent time in the design, purchase, and installation of instrumentation projects and supervision of other construction crafts. Marshall also worked at Robert Shaw Controls as the Service Manager responsible for pneumatic control service and Johnson Controls Company as a Controls Technician responsible for installation and service of pneumatic controls.


Ken Orchuk, Mechanical Engineer

Ken was one of Inter-Tech's first clients and the first PET manufacturer in Canada.  We were delighted when Ken decided to join Inter-Tech in 2001.  His overall responsibilities include but are not limited to facility design and project management.  Ken and his family were the prior owners of Northern Bottling, a Canadian Coke bottler.  Ken has hands on experience with all types of PET equipment.  His hands on experience in filling and blowing operations have added a new dimension to Inter-Tech's capabilities.  Ken also possesses operations experience, as he was responsible for both the PET and filling operations.  Since joining Inter-Tech, Ken has expanded his knowledge by successfully completing numerous projects utilizing his vast knowledge and experience on projects ranging from line installations to greenfield sites.  We have received numerous favorable comments regarding Ken's ability to bring a project to a successful completion.


John Winkler, P.E.

Inter-Tech is delighted to have John Winkler join its ranks as a Project Manager.  John has been involved in the PET Plastics industry for over 30 years and has served in both corporate level positions and plant level roles which have given him a blend of both leading technology and operations that benefits our customer projects. At the corporate level, John performed engineering planning and installations of major utilities in addition to PET perform and bottle manufacturing equipment.  At the plant level, plant engineering, maintenance and tooling responsibilities were some of his earlier duties. In his later role corporately, John focused on estimating, project planning, requisitioning and installation supervision for major jobs across his company at multiple sites. These jobs covered a variety of equipment some of which were supplied by Husky, Uni-Dyn, Sidel, Krupp/SIG, Bellis, Ingersoll Rand, Trane, Baltimore Air Coil, Lantech, APS and Zecchetti.

 
John has a wealth of experience working with contractors and all crafts involved with industrial installations, upgrades and repairs. He has a broad working knowledge of electrical power distribution; tower and chilled water systems; high and low pressure air systems; factory air conditioning; building modifications and equipment foundations. 

 


Wayne Gresham, Project Manager

Wayne Gresham is another exceptional Project Manager working at Inter-Tech. Wayne brings a wealth of technical experience as well as project management to the firm. Wayne worked for over 25 years for a major U.S. PET convertor. Additionally, Wayne worked for a private engineering and project management group providing expertise in utility support systems. Here, Wayne conducted initial plant reviews to determine the baseline utility requirements for current production equipment as well as the capacity of existing utility systems. The utility systems included: chilled water; tower water, high and low compressed air, HVAC, ventilation, and electrical distribution. While employed at the major convertor, Wayne worked in Corporate Engineering providing engineering support for the plastic bottle plants where he interfaced with all major blow molding and injection molding OEM's. In this capacity Wayne engineered and designed plastics blow and injection molding lines, bottle and preform handling systems, utilities and he supported production line startups and debugging resulting in improved utility systems, increased production, improved quality, and energy savings.


Larry Saula, Project Manager

Inter-Tech is pleased to have Larry Saula on our team as well. Larry has an exceptional blending as well of both technical expertise coupled with operational experiences in his over 25 years in the plastics and packaging industries.  Larry has served as a Plant Manager for two packaging companies in addition to being a Plant Manager at several different sites for major convertors. Several of these PET plants had well over 100 employees and 10 -15 blow molding and/or injection lines. As a PET Plant Manager, Larry’s track record consistently demonstrated improvements in machine and line efficiencies, productivities and scrap rates. Like all of Inter-Tech's Project Managers, Larry is well regarded in the industry and balances his technical skills and experiences with an understanding for the needs of the end-users of which he has been multiple times throughout his highly regarded career.
