Inter-Tech has a rich history in the PET plastics industry dating back to the mid 1970’s correlating to the genesis of PET resin itself. The founder of our company, Bill Baldwin truly is a pioneer in the PET industry and owns the legacy of “breaking the mold” for expanding PET beyond the U.S. into many international markets. In fact, Inter-Tech, Ltd. has installed PET Injection or Blow Molding lines in over 112 countries and in many of those markets this was the very first introduction of PET to that market.
Prior to starting Inter-Tech, Bill spent 10 years with a leading multi-national plastic converter. Bill developed the international department and became Vice President of International Operations. In 1976, Bill licensed the very first PET technology/know-how transfer in the world to Glass Container located in Sydney, Australia thereby converting this market from glass packaging to PET. Bill also designed and developed export packaging for the first preforms to be shipped internationally proving preforms could indeed travel beyond traditional U.S. borders and thus enabling the boom of this industry worldwide. Starting in 1976, Bill interfaced and traveled throughout the world with DuPont (the inventor of PET resin) to license and expose the new PET container internationally.
Through Bill’s efforts in the development of PET and his years of leading Inter-Tech, he has been involved in introducing the first PET containers to Asia, the Pacific Rim, Middle East, South America, Mexico and Eastern & Western Europe.
